Sofia is the capital of Bulgaria and according to 2011 census has a population approximately 1.4 million. It covers an area of 492 square kilometers and is located in the central part of western Bulgaria, surrounded from The Vitosha Mountains on the south, The Lulins mountains on the west and The Balkan Mountains on the north.
