World Cup comes to Bansko

This weekend sees Bansko host the latest stage of the 2015 World Cup

Women’s Super G and Super Combined events dominating the slopes on the 28^th February and 1^st March.

FIS organisers have been plagued by tricky conditions as heavy fog and cloud combined with sleet on the lower slopes have caused concern. However, the weather broke this morning and all fingers are crossed for clearer skies tomorrow morning. There is at least no shortage of snow this year, indeed a dump of up to 20cm is expected late Saturday afternoon, which will cause havoc on the race tracks or bring them to an early close.

It’s a great weekend for owner as occupancy rates have soared as international sports media, journalists and tourists alike fill the town, hopefully all spreading the virtues of Bansko in the process.
