New tube line for Sofia announced – Capital Residence owners to benefit considerably
This week has seen the official announcement of a new tube line the Sofia metro system that will run from the south-western area of Ovcha Kupel up through the centre to the north-eastern area of Levski. Set to complete in 2018, the route is planned as part of the continued efforts to improve public transport infrastructure, reduce car travel and improvement environmental conditions. Backed by the European Union, city engineers set to start within 6 months, which is great news for property owners and landlords along the route.
Critically, our landlords in the Ovcha Kupel complex of Capital Residence will benefit significantly as a metro stop is planned closeby within easy walking distance. Proven to positively impact property demand and prices throughout the rest of the city, owners willing to hold on until 2018-2019 can expect to have a personal boast from the EU funded metro line. Currently considered a secondary location by most tenants, demand in the area is spurred on by New Bulgaria University, which with a local metro stop is also set to benefit considerably. Access is currently by tram, bus or car, but none provide easy or efficient options for travel from the airport, the centre or the key business parks. The metro line will dramatically reduce the travel cost and time for employees working in the central business district and enable them to live in Ovcha Kupel without having to seek more expensive more central accommodation.
